I am Mr Raafat, a qualified ICT and Computing teacher with UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE in Computing (Secondary 11–16) from the University of Bolton.
I have over four years of teaching experience in the UK and Qatar, including experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE ICT (0417) in an international school environment.
As a classroom teacher as well as a private tutor, I understand that students have different abilities, learning styles and goals. I aim to create a supportive and professional learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence.
I take exam preparation seriously. My teaching combines strong subject knowledge with structured revision, practical practice, past-paper questions and exam technique. I also monitor each student's progress so that lessons can focus on the areas that will make the greatest difference to their performance.
My academic background also includes a degree in Computer Networks and Security with Digital Forensics, giving me a strong technical foundation beyond the school curriculum.
Whether a student is struggling with ICT, preparing for an upcoming Cambridge examination, or aiming for a top grade, I provide patient, structured and focused support tailored to their individual needs.

My name is Mr Raafat, and I am a qualified ICT and Computing teacher specialising in Cambridge IGCSE ICT (0417).
My approach is simple: I do not want students to memorise ICT without understanding it. I break complex topics into clear, manageable steps and then show students how to apply that knowledge to real Cambridge-style questions and practical tasks.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check of the student's current understanding. I then explain the topic using clear examples and demonstrations, followed by guided practice. Once the student is confident, we move to independent questions or practical tasks. For exam preparation, we work extensively with past-paper questions, focusing not only on getting the correct answer but also on understanding how Cambridge expects the answer to be written.
I teach both the Theory and Practical components of Cambridge IGCSE ICT, including spreadsheet modelling with Excel, databases with Access, document production, web authoring, and other practical skills required by the syllabus.
What makes my lessons different is that they are tailored to each student. If a student is struggling with a particular topic, we identify the exact weakness and work on it systematically rather than simply repeating the whole chapter. For stronger students aiming for top grades, I focus on exam technique, accuracy, time management, common mistakes and challenging past-paper questions.
I can support students with weekly tuition, homework, practical skills, revision, past papers and intensive preparation before examinations.
My lessons are particularly suitable for Cambridge IGCSE ICT (0417) students, including students who are starting the course, students who need extra support and those aiming for the highest possible grades.
Lessons can be delivered in English or Arabic, depending on the student's needs.
My goal as Mr Raafat is for every student to leave the lesson understanding not only what the answer is, but why it is correct and how to reproduce that success independently in the exam.
