About Me

I am a dedicated and passionate science educator with over 12 years of teaching experience in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. I hold a BSc in Chemistry, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), and a Master of Education in Chemistry Education. I also hold professional teaching qualifications and certifications that reflect my commitment to effective teaching, continuous professional development, and student success.

As an experienced Chemistry teacher, I have successfully prepared students for major examinations, including WAEC/WASSCE, NECO, JAMB, and IGCSE. My commitment to academic excellence is reflected in my students' results. My Chemistry students achieved a 70% pass rate in 2023, 80% in 2024, 98% in 2025, and 100% in WAEC Chemistry in 2026.

My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can achieve meaningful academic progress with the right guidance, encouragement, and learning strategies. I specialise in breaking down complex scientific concepts into simple, understandable explanations using real-life examples, illustrations, practical demonstrations, and interactive problem-solving activities.

I believe effective teaching goes beyond memorising facts. I help students understand fundamental principles, develop critical-thinking skills, solve unfamiliar problems, and apply their knowledge confidently in examinations and everyday life.

My lessons are student-centred and adapted to individual learning needs. Whether a student requires additional support with foundational concepts or advanced preparation for examinations, I provide structured guidance, constructive feedback, regular assessments, and targeted practice to help them improve.

I primarily work with senior secondary school students, particularly those in Grades 10–12, as well as students preparing for WAEC/WASSCE, NECO, JAMB, and IGCSE examinations. My Teaching Method and Approach as a Private Tutor

I am an experienced and passionate science educator with over 12 years of teaching experience in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. I hold a BSc in Chemistry, an MEd in Chemistry Education, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), and other professional teaching certifications. My teaching approach focuses on helping students move from confusion to confidence by making complex concepts simple, practical, engaging, and easy to remember.

1. My Teaching Style and Techniques

My teaching style is student-centred, interactive, and inquiry-based. I believe every student can make meaningful academic progress when taught using appropriate strategies that consider their individual abilities, learning pace, and needs.

I use real-life examples, demonstrations, diagrams, analogies, guided questioning, and practical activities to connect abstract scientific concepts to everyday experiences. I also incorporate digital learning tools, interactive quizzes, past examination questions, and problem-solving activities to make learning engaging and effective.

Rather than encouraging students to memorise facts without understanding them, I help them develop critical thinking, independent learning, and the ability to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions. I adapt my methods to address learning difficulties, build confidence, and encourage students to take an active role in their education.

2. The Flow of a Typical Lesson

My lessons follow a structured but flexible approach tailored to each student's learning needs.

Assessment and goal setting: I identify the student's current level of understanding, learning gaps, strengths, and academic goals.

Introduction and connection: I introduce the topic using familiar examples, interesting questions, or a brief review of previous lessons to activate prior knowledge.

Concept explanation: I break complex topics into manageable steps, using clear explanations, illustrations, demonstrations, and relevant examples.

Guided practice: I work through questions with the student, explaining the reasoning behind each step and gradually encouraging independent problem-solving.

Independent application: The student solves questions independently, including challenging exercises and relevant past examination questions.

Feedback and correction: I identify misconceptions, explain errors constructively, and provide additional support where necessary.

My priority is to ensure that students understand what they learn, can explain it in their own words, and can apply it independently in examinations and real-life situations.
